Now I’m back at a different license office, and I’ve at least made it past the first paperwork phase. The absolute dipshit at the window refused to accept these documents as proof of the time span, because each pay stub says “Pay Period Start:” and “Pay Period End:” with a two week term each…which they took to interpret I only worked for this company a total of 6 weeks.
The time span between the first and last was like 2+ years. I chose three pay stubs from my old company: the first and last I had that listed at that address, and one in the middle. I brought all the paperwork, but one of the requirements was to show I lived at the address on my license at least three months. It’s one of the few states in the US that means you don’t need to take a driving test here. I tried to get my license converted today from the state of Virginia to Japan, which is allegedly an easier process than most international conversions.
